Izakaya

YEAR: 2024 – PRESENTLOCATION: PARDES HANNA-KARKUR, ISRAELSERVICES: SOCIAL, CONTENT, BRAND STORYTELLING

Izakaya is a neighbourhood Japanese bar-restaurant in Pardes Hanna-Karkur, run by chef Kiyo Okada — decades of Japanese kitchens behind her — alongside her son Neve.

STRATEGY

The story was already extraordinary. The feed was not telling it.

BEFOREAnother Asian restaurantA rare human and culinary story — a Japanese chef, exact tradition — flattened into generic commercial food photography.
AFTEREditorial, dark, exactWe rebuilt the visual language around Kiyo herself: her hands working, the raw produce, the textures, the bar after dark. Quiet, dark, editorial.

APPROACH

What we actually did

01
Find the human storyKiyo Okada's own history — the move to Israel, decades of Japanese kitchens, a son in the business — placed at the centre of the brand.
02
Reset the visual lineOut with the generic and the industrial, in with a clean, dark, restrained aesthetic that reads Japanese before a single word is spoken.
03
Content built on ritualVideo and carousels about process, precision and produce, plus the after-dark feel of a neighbourhood izakaya.
The moment we started telling our real story through the right visuals, the audience simply fell in love with the precision and the soul of Izakaya.
